This group serves taxpayers in Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
On November 9, 2010, PA Patriots officially became the 39th member group in the Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations. I can't tell you how very proud I am that we are now part of this wonderful group of people. Thank you so much PCTA and David Baldinger for your confidence. The PA Patriots will work very hard to its membership and put the necessary pressure on our elected officials to secure their support for this worthy legislation.
UPDATE: THERE ARE NOW 81 GROUPS STATEWIDE AND WE ARE STILL GROWING!! IT IS VERY EXCITING TO SEE PEOPLE GETTING INVOLVED.
If you live in Columbia County, please consider joining this group and working with us to get important legislation passed. If you don't live near a group, please go to www.ptcc.us and sign up there for updates. It is the webpage for the Pennsylvania Taxpayer Cyber Coalition. David Baldinger is the leader of the PTCC. It is a state wide web based group for people who are not involved with a local group in the state and he works very hard to keep everyone updated. You can read the Property Tax Independence Act (HB76 & SB76) on the PTCC Website. Please visit the site even if you belong to this group or any other group. It is a wonderful source of information on this legislation and the process involved in making it a law in the Commonwealth. It is IMPERATIVE that you write and call your legislators and urge them to co-sponsor the legislation. I have included a summary of the Act as well as FAQs and other pertinent information on this important piece of legislation here on this website as well.
We are also working with the Pennsylvania Right To Work Organization to get legislation passed that will give EVERY Pennsylvanian the right to a job without being FORCED to join a union. Unions are a FRONT for BULLIES who forcefully take money from workers in order to support political ideologies that may or may not be the ideology of those individuals. They claim to be a voice for the workers, but they are ONLY CONCERNED FOR THE MONEY THEY CAN TAKE FROM THE EMPLOYEES IN THE FORM OF "DUES". I am on the Board of Directors of this organization and we really need your help. Please join this group and let me know if you are willing to help. Go to www.parighttowork.org .
We believe that these two major pieces of legislation will be key to making Pennsylvania more attractive to businesses so that they will come to Pennsylvania. When more businesses come here, they will bring jobs. The elimination of school property taxes in Pennsylvania will make it easier for families to buy a home here. An expanded sales tax will take the burden of education off of homeowners only, and allow everyone to share in this responsibility. When the State is funding education through the expanded sales tax, all students in the state will have the benefit of "per pupil" funding for their school, regardless of the property values in their district. Some districts are now struggling and don't even have drinkable water in their schools. Others are contemplating whether they should build a second pool or more tennis courts. When these two pieces of legislation are signed into law, every child will have the same educational opportunities regardless of the property values in their district. Pennsylvania will grow again and we will be able to fund that growth by spreading the cost of education to every citizen.
